Quran in the 21st Century : Monthly Meeting Sunday 6th April 2014

The technological development in the 21st century is continuing at a fast pace. The human effort has crossed those borders of technology which one could not dream even 50 years ago. This is going to continue into the foreseeable future.  What does the Quran say about it?
The modern psychology has explored the human self in the light of the studies carried out across the world. The human emotions and thinking have been extensively explored and various theories have been put forward to define human personality. The work is still going on to further analyse each emotion and various facets of human thinking. This is being studied in relation to human decision making.   The Quran also deals with the human self - what is there for us?
The political scene is changing rapidly and any thinking being may be wondering what is coming next. The conflicts seem to be never ending and one after another, human beings find time and energy to trigger a new challenge. How does the Quran view it?
It is economy being talked all the time. Despite talking about the poverty reduction targets, the gap between the rich and the poor is increasing by each passing day. Does the Quran present an alternative solution?
There is a talk about the end of the world from some religious quarters. Understandably when we get upset and disappointed, we fee l like giving up. What is the position of the Quran on this?
The questions like this need to be discussed in the light of the Quran. This presentation will cover some of these aspects by defining the world in the 21st century. We will also discuss what the Quran has for us to think about.  How we need to apply the Quranic values to the world around us to make sense of various events. Can we get a fair idea about the world to come and can we sign post in the light of the Quran?
Please come along and share your thoughts with everyone else. There will be a short presentation followed by question answer session. The meeting will be as the Quran says, in the presence of Allah (SWT).
We will also discuss the future programme for education and training.

Please bring reasons and solutions how we can get young people involved?
